STORING & AGEING CIGARS

  • Cigars should be stored in a humidor with a temperature of between 16 and 18 degrees and in a relative humidity of 65 to 70 percent. A constant and proper humidity is essential to keep cigars from drying out or being too moist

  • Humidors come in all shapes and sizes. Travel sized humidors hold just a few cigars; room sized humidors hold thousands of boxes of cigars

  • Humidors are most often made of Spanish cedar and some humidors come with hygrometers, which indicate the interior humidity - these can be analog or digital

  • Ageing cigars should take place in a large humidor with room between the cigars where the air can circulate

  • Proper storage at the appropriate humidity and temperature is the most critical factor in maintaining the quality of cigars. If this is not maintained a number of problems can arise
